Care and Counseling

One of the most important lessons Jesus taught His disciples was how to pray.  In response to the petition, “Teach us to pray,” Jesus said to them, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”  He didn’t tell them, “if you pray,” or suggest you, “ought to pray.” He said, “When you pray” (Matthew 6:5).   The expectation is that we are to pray, and the model has been set.  We are to pray that God’s kingdom would increasingly invade earth, and that His good and perfect will would be done.

Prayer is broad, and considered one of the most important disciplines of the Christian life.  It connects us with other believers as we join in corporate prayer.  As we pray, we grow personally, and spiritually.  Prayer is an opportunity to minister one to another within the church.  When we pray for those who have yet to commit their life to Christ, we engage in effective evangelism.  Finally, it is a form of worship, for it is in prayer that we meet God and commune with Him.

There are several opportunities to become involved in Prayer Ministry at Valley Christian Center.  I invite you to attend a prayer service or join a prayer group and see what God does both in you, and through you.  Take a few moments to look through this brochure and see how you might become involved in our Prayer Ministry.

::  Prayer Partners
Sunday Mornings, 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00 AM

Prayer partners are committed to praying through the Sunday morning services for spiritual breakthroughs.  The heartbeat of each service is set by the prayer that takes place during this vital time.  Set aside one Sunday a month to pray through one of the services.  Contact Katheline Monnier at kmonnier@dublinvcc.org or call 925-560-6232.

::  Intercessors

Occasionally intercessors are called upon to pray at a moments notice for an emergency need.  Our intercessors, notified by phone or email, are committed to pray for emergency needs the moment they are made aware.  If you feel gifted or burdened to pray in this fashion, email Sandy Brunson at sbrunson@dublinvcc.org or call 925-560-6202.
