The Bible does not specifically say what will happen to those who have never heard of Jesus. We do know that God is just and his decisions are perfect. While we may not know the exact answer to the question of where non-Christians will go, there are a few principles we know that are true.
- The Bible does state that individuals will not be held accountable for what they are unaware of.
"If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin." John 15:22
" …for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law." Romans 5:13
- All people, no matter where they live, know of the existence of God.
"...since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." Romans 1:19-20
- God created humans to know right from wrong.
