Enrollment Procedure for New Students

General information regarding registration may be found on page 4 thru 8 of the Valley Christian Elementary School Student Handbook.  Please read the handbook in its entirety as it contains pertinent information concerning our school and its policies and programs.

We currently have openings available for the 2008-09 school year.  Please contact the school office for further information.

Enrollment in Valley Christian Elementary School involves a four-step procedure beginning with submission of an application along with a non-refundable registration fee and concluding with an acceptance decision.

Open enrollment for new students for the 2008-09 school year began on
January 22, 2008 at our Public Open House.  Applications are still being accepted..



Step 1 - Submit Application and Registration Fee (for new students and returning Valley Christian Preschool Students):

$350.00 -- This fee is non-refundable; however, if a student is not accepted by the school, $250.00 of this fee will be retained for testing and registration services and the remaining $100.00 will be refunded.  If however, a decision is made by the family not to enroll the student, the entire registration fee is non-refundable.


Step 2 - Submit Additional Information
In order to evaluate your student’s application, the following additional materials must be submitted:

Kindergarten Applicants
- Students entering Kindergarten must be five years old on or before September 1 to enter.  A certified copy of the child’s birth certificate must accompany all Kindergarten applications.

The following must be submitted PRIOR to assigning your student to a classroom.

  1. Immunization Records (up-to-date)
  2. Physical Examination Form (A complete physical exam is required within one year prior to starting Valley Christian School.)

All Other Applicants - First Grade through Sixth Grade 

  1. Recommendation from a current teacher
  2. Copy of most recent report card
  3. Copy of most recent standardized testing results if taken (SAT or equivalent)
  4. Copy of most recent psycho-educational assessment (if your child has been evaluated by public school personnel or a private clinician)

The following must be submitted PRIOR to assigning your student to a classroom.

  1. Immunization records (up-to-date)
  2. Request for Records Form
  3. Physical Examination Form (A complete physical exam is required within one year prior to starting Valley Christian School.)


Physical Examination Form and Request for Records Form can be obtained in the office.


Step 3 - Screening
Each Kindergarten and first grade applicant will be scheduled for an individual screening. Testing will be done for second through sixth grade using the Stanford Achievement Test in math procedures and reading comprehension. 


Step 4 - Tuition Payment Schedule
Tuition is based on a school year amount (please refer to the General Registration and Fee Schedule).  You have the option of paying in full or dividing the tuition into eleven equal payments.


FOR NEW STUDENTS:  The following information must be on file prior to the first day of school:

  1. Up to date Immunization Records
  2. Physical Examiniation Form (A complete physical examination is requred within one year prior to starting Valley Christian School)

Special Note to All Registrants:

Classes are filled on the basis of completed procedures so it is important that delays be avoided.  The student enrollment will be limited to the amount of adequate available facilities.  The student health form may be brought in at the time your child is tested or before the first day of school.
