Algebra I A and Algebra I B comprise a two-year program foundational for future mathematics courses. These courses encompass the following topics: simplifying rational and polynomial expressions; adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing rational numbers/expressions, inequalities, polynomials and radical expressions; solving linear equalities, inequalities and systems by algebraic and graphical methods; solving quadratic equations and inequalities; solving real world application problems.
Algebra I (one-year program) is a fast-paced course is designed for mature, self-motivated students who have a strong math aptitude and excellent problem solving skills. Students enrolled in this course should have mastery of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, decimals and fractions and be familiar with integers and solving one-step variable equations. Prerequisite: B+ or higher in Pre-Algebra Class
Geometry or Geometry Honors is a course in Euclidean geometry that includes direct instruction in logical thinking. Throughout the course, students will learn to associate geometric figures with the real number system. After defining and working with the basics of geometry – points, lines, planes and angles – students are introduced to deductive reasoning. These skills are developed throughout the first semester through geometric proofs. Parallel lines and planes are studied prior to several chapters involving extensive study of polygons, including circles. Coordinate geometry is studied last in order to facilitate smooth transition into Algebra II.

Algebra II or Algebra II Honors is a continuation of the concepts learned in Algebra I with the addition of Geometry concepts. This course will cover the following topics: graphing and solving of inequalities, linear equations, functions, polynomial manipulation, rational expressions, complex numbers, quadratic equations and functions, dividing polynomials, exponential functions, word problems in all applications and matrices. Graphing calculators will be used.

Pre-Calculus begins with a detailed look at advanced functions. Students will study a complete segment of trigonometry followed by an exploration of sequences and series, concluding with some basic derivative and integral applications.

Pre-Calculus Honors is a preparatory course for college-level calculus. Beginning with a detailed look at advanced functions, this course covers a complete segment of trigonometry, followed by an exploration of sequences and series, and concludes with some basic derivative and integral applications.

Calculus AP begins with a study of the properties of limits and their application to the derivative. The remainder of the course is spent on the nature, derivatives, and integrals of functions. Also discussed are the applications of these principles to problem solving. Students are expected to take the AP Calculus exam in May.

Statistics AP, a junior or senior level math course, is offered especially for students who plan to enter such fields as business, teaching, medicine, or political science. The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. The topics for Statistics AP are divided into four major themes: exploring data, planning a study, anticipating patterns (probability), and statistical inference. Students who successfully complete the course and the AP examination may receive college credit.
Prerequisite: successful completion of Pre-Calculus
UC approved “c” Mathematics
Business Math will cover basic business and personal math skills including: Fractions & Percents, Annuities, Stocks & Bonds, Buying & Selling, Depreciation, Banking & Currency, Financial Statements, Business & Consumer Loans, Business Statistics, Taxes & Insurance, Payroll, Simple & Compound Interest.
