Man, created in the image of God, is inherently valuable to God as unique individuals. Man also is created to live in community. However, because of the Fall, man’s sinful nature is demonstrated in his struggle to live successfully within that community. The Social Studies curriculum is designed to expose our students to the incredible diversity of the Created world through the study of world geography; to the history of man working together throughout the ages, creating and developing the patterns of social behavior that have finally brought us to the twentieth century; and to the way that God has used individuals to alter the course of history. In addition, the principles of economics and government are presented as preparatory tools for the students successfully integrating into life as citizens of a democratic republic.
