A student who is a freshman or sophomore at the High School is enrolled in seven periods per day. A Junior enrolls in a minimum of six classes. With approval from the Academic Advisor, some Seniors may enroll in a minimum of five classes.

  • Three years of math are required including Algebra II.
  • College admissions standards recommend three years of lab sciences including both a biological science and a physical science.
  • Two years of the same foreign language are required.
  • All students must enroll in PE/Health during 9th grade.  Additional required credit units for PE may be earned by sports participation (2.5 units per sport) or cheerleading (5 units per year).
  • Courses also available at Honors level: Introduction to Literature, World Literature, Chemistry, Geometry, Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus.
  • Chapel Leadership is a Bible course open to Juniors and Seniors only.  Students are enrolled by a selective process that includes an interview.
  • In order to fulfill subject requirements for admission to California State colleges or the University of California campuses, courses must be approved by the University of California Office of the President.
  • Grades are weighted only for those courses approved by the University of California to receive an additional grade point.  Please refer to the UC website for yearly course lists at http://www.ucop.edu/doorways/
