John Parrella wasn't a good football player, he was a great one! In my seventeen years in the NFL, I've never had a better teammate. He was a true professional-- someone who always took a great deal of pride in his preparation and performance. The kind of player who was always the first one in the building everyday and the last to leave. He's always had a passion for the game and a unique energy and enthusiasm that's contagious. The kind of person that has the ability to make those around him better.
John was a player that led by example and always took the time to work with the younger players. That's why it's easy to see how he transitioned out of football and into coaching. John Parrella represents all that's good about our game. A guy that believes there are no shortcuts in life-- rather doing it the right way the first time is what he's all about. I've always admired the dedication and discipline he's displayed, not only in his personal life, but his spiritual life as well. He's a winner!
