“Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the Lord.” --Psalm 102:18
It only takes a quick glance at a few of the ministries of Valley Christian Center to show that the church is not just a building. The church consists of a family of people who are centering their lives on Jesus Christ. The facility is a tool that God uses for ministry.
God has blessed us with a ministry that is healthy, vital and growing. Our church has witnessed God’s favor by increased attendance and participation, particularly with younger families. Our ministry has broadened as we have offered more and more opportunities for spiritual growth. We are also pleased with the growth and development we have seen in our school ministries in the last few years, including winning the coveted “Blue Ribbon School Award.” Currently we are not only at capacity, but wait-listed in most of our school classes.
This growth has placed a strain on our present Worship Auditorium and Complex that only promises to increase in the coming years. While this is a great problem to have, the fact is that we desperately need to provide more space for our children, students, adult education, music ministry, and schools.
Worship Center Foyer:
We are called to a large-church ministry, but we want to accomplish this purpose one person at a time. This requires the building of relationships. Our foyer/plaza needs to be expanded to include a hospitality-type center that encourages one-on-one fellowship, particularly during poor weather.
Worship Center:
The environment in the worship center does not currrently accommodate our burgeoning schools, large events and productions. We currently struggle with accoustical and sound issues. Additionally, the design of the Worship Center does not accommodate new technologies to reach this generation; center isles for weddings, water baptismal area, and many additional amenities that are included in the new plan.
Large Groups:
Our current approach to ministry requires large group meeting spaces and seating for adults. Our present facilities confines many of our ministries (Student Ministries, Children’s Church and Adult Education) to limited growth as the rooms were built with our schools and the young student in mind.
Worship Rehearsal Room:
Due to high demands on the building, our music ministry is often moved from the sanctuary for rehearsals. This makes it extremely difficult to hear the voices, instrumentalists, rehearse technical requirements, and properly prepare for our worship experience
on Sundays.
Daytime Ministries:
Our facility is beyond capacity during the weekday which causes a tremendous strain on Women’s Bible Study, Parenting Classes, and other outreaches to our community.
Young Families:
Our current Nursery to Preschool facilities are inadequate for the number of young children now participating in our ministry.
School Chapel:
Our current sanctuary is unable to accommodate our growing student body in all-school chapels, graduations, etc. Sound, lighting, staging, and pre-production rooms limit our ability in performing arts for our school children.
Restrooms:
In addition to size and accessibility, restrooms are old and in need of updating.
Accessibility:
Our church has limited accessibility for the elderly and people with disabilities.
