VCS Auction

Why an auction?
An auction is a highly effective way to raise money.  Businesses, VCS families and friends have donated items, gift certificates and experiences. Then, we auction off those donations to raise money for supplies and programs for the school.  So bid often and bid high!

There are a number of ways to raise money for our school community. An auction is believed to be the best single way to earn a substantial amount of money.  This method combines an opportunity for fellowship while generating much needed funds for our school's operating budget. The success of this event keeps tuition from significantly increasing on an annual basis.

What is the ticket price and what does it cover?
Our ticket price for this year’s ‘Garden of Promise’ auction will be $30.00 per person. Each ticket provides one adult admission to the When you arrive at the auction, you’ll receive your assigned bidder number and catalog with your number on it. For silent auction items, you write your bidder number on the bid sheet along with the amount you wish to bid. Please note the minimum bid and raise amounts—not following those guidelines can invalidate your bid. There are different closing times for different silent auction sections. In contrast, during the live auction an auctioneer leads the bidding and you raise your paddle (backside of your catalog) in direct competition with other bidders. It’s fast, frenzied and fun.

Can a group of friends bid on an item together?
Yes! Forming a group is a great way to afford some parties, vacations and other items that may be too expensive for just one family. However, we can only charge one bidder’s account, so designate one specific bidder and have the other group members pay that bidder.

What is a Teacher Treat?
Our dedicated teachers and staff donate their time and energy creating fun activities for our kids. The kids love these fun events with their teachers. These event can be highly competitive and arriving early to the auction is the best way to secure your child’s spot.

Can I pay by credit card?
Yes, you will be able to pay by MasterCard or Visa at the auction but their handling costs are higher, resulting in a lower net profit for the school. Preferable payment would be by check.

Can I still donate to the auction?
Yes! The absolute final deadline for your donation to appear in the catalog is Friday, March 9, 2007. Please fill out a donation agreement, which can be found on our website www.valleyauction.com or in the front office. Have it completed and turned into the front office by 3/9/07.

Popular items include restaurant dinners, sports tickets, Culinary Chef Dinners, parties, kid activities, sports or celebrity memorabilia, unique experiences, getaways, theater tickets and hosted dinners.

Does the auction still need volunteer help?
Yes, we need help with pre-auction prep work, set-up the day and help during the event. To volunteer, sign-up at the PTF Volunteer Sign-up on the school website www.dublinvcc.org or contact Renee Rogers at reneerogers@vcesauction.com

What are the Goals for the Auction?

  1. The primary goal of this event is to fundraise. The money raised by this event goes directly to Valley Christian Elementary School. All proceeds from the auction this year will be used to fund projects such as enhance our new science curriculum with additional hands-on materials and update our audio visual equipment with more efficient technology.
  2. Public Relations. The publicity of this event, through sponsorships, donations and media interaction, helps to raise awareness of our school's mission and values. This in turn further educates the community about our school and encourages a steady flow of new students at all grade levels.
  3. An opportunity for the VCES community to come together and "celebrate" our common mission, the education and spiritual growth of our children.

How Can I Attend?
We would prefer that tickets be purchased in advance so that we can plan appropriately for food and guest accommodations.  Please send in the RSVP card with your check or donation once you receive your invitation. However, if you cannot RSVP in advance, we will be selling tickets at the door for an additional $10.00 per person.

How can I get an Auction Program?
Programs will be distributed to each registered guest. The week of the event copies will be made available in the front office for preview. You can stay up-to-date with a sampling of the auction items on this website.
