NEXT DROP-OFF DATE IS:
TBA
at the VCS Elementary School Front Door

Valley Christian Schools and eBay have joined forces to bring us a unique way to maximize our fundraising efforts for our school.
We are focused and committed at Valley Christian Schools to provide Learning for Today, Knowledge for Tomorrow and Leadership for Life!
To help execute on our Mission, eBay and Valley Christian have partnered in an innovative program to help us raise funds through sellable items donated to us. Why do this? To live out our mission and strive for excellence in all we do, financial support that goes beyond tuition is critical. With this program, even if you find that your monthly budget is tight, you still have an opportunity to give and get givers to help the kids and educators at Valley Christian flourish!
With this new program we’d like to achieve breakthrough results and are targeting 100% VCS participation so that means we need all parents, all educators and all staff of Valley Christian Schools committed to looking for those items at home that are sellable and…donate them to us! Our eBay Program staff will take over from there!
Our Monthly Drop-off is always the 1st Saturday of each month at the entrance of the Elementary School. If you can not make the Saturday drop-off, you can now drop your item(s) off at the Church Office M-F 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Please ask for Catie Wadleigh or Jim Heal and mention the eBay program! We thank you in advance for generous donations to Valley Christian...see you there!!!
How we need your help:
- DONATIONS: (a) You donate any sellable* items to VCC. (b) We provide you with a tax receipt. (c) We will take your donations and utilize our experts to turn your donated items into funds that we can use to help your kids grow with Valley Christian. (*please see Paragraph below regarding “sellable” items).
- SPREAD THE WORD: Ask your friends & family if they would like to donate items. Go to our website at (VCC/Support) for a sample email that you can cut & copy into an email to send out.
- VOLUNTEERS: If you would like to be a part of this exciting new program, we are in need of enthusiastic volunteers. Please visit the VCC website, in the Support section there is more eBay information or email Lori Wetzel at lwetzel@dublinvcc.org.
How do I get my items to the school? For your convenience, we will have designated drop-off days at school. We are planning to have Donation Drop Offs the first Saturday of every month. (The hours may vary depending on school events). Our next drop off date TBA. For special arrangements, you can contact our eBay Program Director, Lori Wetzel at lwetzel@dublinvcc.org. Please see the attached form for more info. We will also have Donation Forms in each School Office.
What type of items sell on eBay? While eBay is a great place to sell nearly anything, the following items have historically sold well:
| Art, antiques, coins, and other collectibles |
Books, CDs, DVDs, and video games |
Celebrity signed and /or designed memorabilia |
| Clothing, shoes, and accessories |
Unique experiences (for example, Napa Wine train) |
Jewelry |
| Computers and electronics |
Home and garden items |
Sporting goods and memorabilia |
| Tickets to Sport Events & Concerts |
Vintage & Retro items |
Seasonal items |
| Gift Cards |
Toys |
|
When donating items, please consider the condition of the item. For an item to be sellable, it would need to follow the guidelines that, for example, a Consignment store would have:
- Clothing: No rips, tears, or stains
- Electronics: working condition
- Have recognizable Brand names
- Can be either new, or in excellent condition
If you have Large items or questions regarding donation an item, you can email Lori Wetzel at lwetzel@dublinvcc.org.
Valley Christian Schools is registered on eBay as a non-profit that anyone selling on eBay can donate a portion of their eBay profits to. So when you click on our eBay Direct Link to see our items for sale (www.ebay.com/vcc), you might see different Seller names with different percentages being donated. I will clarify this below:
- VCC’s eBay seller name is: dublinvcc. These are donated items that 100% proceeds are going to the school. The individual who donated the item to the school has received a tax receipt for donating that item. Our eBay Seller fees are also credited back.
- However, you might also see another Seller name with a smaller percentage being donated. This would be an individual (for example, a student’s Aunt that already sells items on eBay) and she has chosen to give 20% of her eBay profits from her item back to the school. When that item sells, the school gets the percentage the Seller designated, and eBay will email that Seller a tax receipt for that portion & give them a partial credit towards their eBay fees for that item.
BUYING eBay items
Another way to support this program is to Buy items from our eBay link. You never know when someone might have donated just the item that you have been looking for!!
If you BUY an item from our eBay auctions, we will waive the Shipping Charges if you want to make arrangements to pick your item up at school. We haven’t determined the pickup location yet, so until we do, if you are the Winner of an auction, you can email Lori Wetzel. Of course, you can always complete the eBay transaction with the shipping charges if you want the convenience of having it mailed to your home.
